Dr. Schroeder, a board-certified cardiologist, will be available for consultations on Mondays.
He graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 and subsequently completed a 1-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida in 2003. In 2006, he completed a 3-year cardiology residency at the California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles under the mentorship of renowned veterinary specialist Stephen Ettinger, DVM, DACVIM (cardiology and small animal internal medicine). Dr. Schroeder achieved board-certification in Cardiology from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2006. Dr. Schroeder has been on staff at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida since 2006, and sees referrals of dogs and cats with cardiac disease. In addition to standard thoracic radiography, blood work and blood pressure evaluation, he offers electrocardiography (EKG), Holter/Event monitoring and echocardiography.
Dr. Schroeder also performs interventional cardiology such as transvenous pacemaker implantation and balloon valvuloplasty, as well as intratracheal stent implantation.
